This happened so fast! This morning he was still recognizable as a caterpillar, although he was definitely losing color and contracting. And now this evening he is something else entirely. I'm guessing that the green is the last bit of skin that's being shed. While I was watching, he was squirming and twisting; the threads holding on to the stick are very strong. It looked like hard work.
