I've been watching this guy for a few days. Because he is also on the fennel plant, I think maybe he is a stage of the bright green caterpillar that I posted here earlier, even though they don't resemble each other at all. This fellow gets bigger every day. The yellow spots used to be bright orange and they're flattening out a bit, but it's hard to imagine that the black will give way to bright green. By the way, my emerald friend has now become a lovely pale green chrysalis--this happened sometime this afternoon, when I wasn't looking.
