There was an outdoor theater festival all around us--several productions going on at once, extras from Shakespeare working the crowd, men on stilts, clowns and dogs, opera on the main stage, the audience lounging on blankets on the lawn, children dripping ice cream. What I learned: get in close, choose a smaller aperture, and don't be afraid to use your flash outdoors.

Fly on a Wall
