And I have some fascinating papers of hers from her high school secretarial class that are detailed drawings created with keyboard symbols, again carefully counted and arranged, kind of Chuck Close meets Typing 101.

My mother used to design knitting patterns on graph paper, counting and coloring in the little squares.
