Hey, it's probably a grasshopper, but I just wanted to say it: Jiminy Crickets! Here is your bit of trivia for today: Jiminy Cricket's voice was performed by Cliff Edwards, also known as Ukulele Ike, one of the most popular entertainers of the 1920s and 30s. Paddlin' Madeleine Home; I Can't Give You Anything But Love; Yes Sir, That's My Baby; and, of course, When You Wish Upon a Star, are all tunes he recorded. Tunes, I might add, that we still play today, every Saturday morning at the harbor at the Sons of the Beach ukulele play-along. Isn't amazing how all these threads intertwine?
