Hail, Mary!

We've had dramatic god-skies and on and off rain all day, and it's been cold enough to have a fire going, but a few minutes ago there was an amazing surprise:  a hail dump that made monumental gravelly noises and lasted for several minutes.  The flat back roof was covered with little pearls of ice, and the full abalone shell was a nice touch.
