
It's upside down, but the letters in the clear blue sky over San Francisco say
Airsign.com. They were made by 5 synchronized planes that spit out dots of smoke as they flew in parallel formation in an arc over the city. It is amazing to me that someone thought this up, and then figured out how to make it work. It is furtherly amazing that just right then in the courtyard of the museum, we looked up. For the few minutes those letters were visible in the universe, we we there to see them. I guess that's true about everything we see, but it just seems more astonishing with this brief piece of meaningless showmanship. I think it's wasteful and silly, but it was very cool to see...
A twenty (20) character Sky Billboard stretches five (5) miles across the sky and occupies 33 MILLION square feet of space!
